Yasuke's legend originates in the Sengoku period and is known to be the first samurai of African descend to have served in Japan. According to the Shinchō Kōki (Oda Nabunaga's chronicle), he was believed to have been gifted a hand forged katana which he used to fight for unification in Japan. Today, we celebrate our very own Lamalice's welcoming to the Sentaku family with two astonishing yet opposite interpretations of Yasuke's weapon in battle.
